Embracing change

Dear Korea,

I was introduced to Calm through a friend at my old boxing gym in San Francisco. It wasn’t until I came to Korea that I started using it for daily meditation and stress management to help me cope with transitioning abroad. It has other great features too for sleep but honestly it’s been the best 10 minutes of my morning before I start the day to get in the right mindset. In fact, I love it so much that I asked my friend to make an introduction so I could discuss getting some kind of offer link for my company. I found out they typically provide a link for either a 30 day free trial or discounted rate off one year. They only offer a free trial for 7 days from their website but if you’re interested in trying it out free for 30 days, you can access the Calm trial here.

They say it takes anywhere from 21 to 30 days to build a habit and see its effects. So starting today I’m making a small goal of committing to daily meditation for 30 days. I’ll share at the end of each week any specific changes I’ve noticed.

Today’s lesson was about embracing change. No, actually diving head first into it. I’ve spent the last three months reflecting and tearing down all the parts of myself that are hard to change but I want to leave behind. I’m hopeful that being here in Korea will allow me the time and space to welcome new experiences that bring me forward into becoming the person I truly want to be.
